continue using their national land-based mobile
network, but will be able to automatically switch
to Thuraya satellite mode in areas that are outside
the terrestrial system.

'Direct Dial Up' Access to
the Internet
With Thuraya's 'direct dial up'
access to the Internet in its dual mode handset,
Thuraya subscribers can browse the Internet anytime
and anywhere in the coverage area. The "direct
dial up' access to the Internet is offered to
Thuraya subscribers with no additional Internet
subscription.
The service does not require 'logging-on',
nor does it ask for a user name and password.
However, Thuraya post-paid subscribers need prior
activation of the data service in order to connect
to the Internet.
Thuraya's subscriber's can place Internet calls
by connecting the phone to a PC or laptop using
a Thuraya data cable. All standard Internet services
such as web browsing and email services are possible
using this facility. Features such as multi-link
PPP are also possible using multiple Thuraya Terminals,
which significantly boost data performance.
The service is available for both
post-paid and prepaid as well as for GSM subscribers
roaming onto Thuraya's network. |

access the Internet you need:
- Data service activation
- PC or Laptop.
- Thuraya Data Cable.
How to
access the Internet:
- Thuraya subscribers and
the GSM roamers, who have Data Service, can
dial the short number 1722 through their laptops
or PCs.
- Users should define a normal
dial up connection in their laptops and configure
it to dial 1722.

like Thuraya to Thuraya data call charges.
